Researching this history, James has uncovered links to the Brislington House Asylum. This report also sought to uncover the lives of the servants of the house.

Eggbuckland Fort, Plymouth

James has researched the history of this prominent Plymouth landmark, built in the 1860s as one of the ‘Palmerston forts’ in reaction to the French invasion scare, a perfect example of the type. James investigated the full social, and structural history of the site, whilst also attempting to portray life at Eggbuckland Fort for historic residents.

Drake’s Island, Plymouth

James researched the history of this iconic Plymouth landmark, famous for its links to Sir Francis Drake, to inform its transformation into a luxury resort. The report produced covered all aspects of Drake’s Island’s history, such as its use as a refuge for Protestants during the Western Prayer Book Rebellion of 1549.

Basil Manor, Cornwall.
